I did some hard evaluation on what I think I can accomplish for 2016. I have put together a very aggressive build schedule over the next year to be able to attend five different events this year. It was so surprising how much easier it is to focus when I am in my sewing room when I know that I have a plan. I have set some rules to help me from getting over whelmed.
1. Do not make more than three of any item at one time. I get bored when I have to make the same thing over and over. It helps when the fabric changes, but it is also a nice diversion when I know that I only have three to make.
2. Prep for the next week build schedule. By always having the next item ready to cut and create, it gives me time to create and see what is coming next. I am the kind of person who always looks forward to what is coming. Plus I can see if I am missing any parts or components that would prevent me from finishing the project.
3. Family always comes first! I can always adjust the build schedule. Family is not a distraction to work around. Sewing is done around family. No guilt if I don't meet the build schedule.
I have gone to craft sales with what I thought was too little of merchandise and felt like I had enough to sell. I had such a great year in 2015 and do know the value of having enough merchandise to sell. I will do my best and enjoy each moment.
Now, I have to get those ornaments done, one more order, and enjoy the Christmas lights on our home!
Happy Holidays everyone! I invite everyone to comment and tell me what types of products you would like to see in our booth and in our online store!
