This is a couple of photos from my first booth at the Capital A'Fair. I was so excited to be selected and had to borrow a canopy. (Thank you Joann Beckman!) It is so amazing to see how far I have come. I had yards and yards of the same fabric and sewed the same things but used what I had to get started. The last photo is 2012. I started feeling confident that I can be successful in my business when I would have repeat customers and people who bought product would stop by and tell me how much they like what I had sewn for them. It continues to be a huge confidence boost for me. I listened to those who offer advise and suggestions and stayed true to who I am. I look at these pictures and can almost remember each item and the person who bought it. Those early days have helped me to become a better business person and it shows. Business tip I would like to share is: Use what you have and don't feel you have to be perfect right away. I started with two ladders, paint trays, and a rack built by my supportive husband. Use what you have to get out there and start. Don't say you will start tomorrow- live like you started last week, and the first few days did not go as well as the next days will be! My yesterday was better than I thought, because it made the tomorrow a lot easier to plan for,.
Have a great Friday!
